Humidity
The presence of humidity in the incubator is an essential key to the success of the hatching
Since humidity levels are relative and vary dynamically with changes in temperature,
Humidity measurements are problematic.
For example, when the room temperature is low and the temperature inside
The incubator is set to 37.3C; the temperature inside the incubator will drop.
If moisture is not added, the eggs will not hatch.
Therefore, humidity should be measured in a certain temperature according to standard international tables showing the relative humidity in various temperatures.
The humidity level required for incubation is generally 55-65 percent, depending on the type of parrot.
Most of the standard humidity meters are designed to be used in room temperature. These meters are inaccurate, since a change in the room temperature causes them to display a wrong reading of the humidity level.
Digital hygrometers might house an attractive display, but they are generally inaccurate and one cannot determine if the deviations are significant or not.
Accurate digital hygrometers are very expensive and require periodic calibration.
Several types of hygrometers exist for home use, but they are unsuitable for an incubator.
So incubators require a simple hygrometer built on wet\dry hygrometer principle.
The absence of an accurate humidity meter in today's market caused D.M.P to come up with it's own unique solution: the D.M.P Temperature\humidity meter.
Professor Amos Ar, Head of Zoology Department at Tel Aviv University:
In the incubators built by D.M.P. Engineering, the heat is evenly and constantly spread throughout
the incubator, so one can give up the "dry" thermometer and use only one thermometer - the "wet" one.
In addition, Mr. Vishnia uses a very accurate Calibrate Thermometer (+-0.1C) with a low heat capacity, which achieves its thermal balance in few seconds.

The Temperature\humidity meter's components consist of:
1.Temperature range is from 25-39 degrees Celsius to the accuracy of 2/10 C.
2. Standard international charts showing the relative humidity in various temperatures are already calculated in (No need for outside conversion chart).
2. Two scales -
- The upper blue scale presents the relative percentage of humidity level.
- The lower red scale presents the temperature in Celsius degrees.
- Water container.
- A cotton fiber connects the thermometer to a water container below the scales.
How does it operate?
When the water container is empty, the thermometer will display the inner temperature of the incubator.
When there is water in the container, the fiber absorbs it and causes the tip of the thermometer to get wet. The water vaporization around the tip of the thermometer causes the temperature to drop (The temperature drop is relative the percentage of humidity inside the incubator).
The upper blue scale is calibrated to show the level of humidity after the thermometer's temperature dropped.
